Nahimana and Rosenkranz named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University male and female Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 5th are men's basketball player Brian Nahimana (London, Ont.) and women's basketball player Nicole Rosenkranz (Niagara Falls, Ont.).

Nahimana, a third year General Studies student, continued to have a strong junior season with the Brock men's basketball team. In two games this past week, Nahimana averaged 12.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. He shot 50.0% (9-for-18) from the field and 85.7% (6-for-7) from the charity stripe. Versus Western he recorded his first double-double of the season.

Rosenkranz, a third year Humanities major, helped lead the Brock women's basketball team to a 1-1 record this past week, which included an overtime road victory over the McMaster Marauders. In two games, Rosenkranz averaged 17.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0% (13-for-26) from the field. Against her former team McMaster, Rosenkranz recorded a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.
