Toale and Maric named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 4th are men's soccer player Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) and women's rugby player Misha Maric (Toronto, Ont.).

Toale, a fourth year history major, helped lead the Brock men's soccer team to a 1-1 record this past weekend to open the 2011 OUA regular season.

In two games, Toale posted a 0.50 goals against average while stopping 13 of 14 shots he faced for a .929 save percentage. In the Badgers 2-0 victory over Windsor, Toale was outstanding registering eight saves for his first shutout of the season.

Maric, a third year Kinesiology major, led the Brock women's rugby team to a 2-0 record this past weekend posting victories over the University of Buffalo (61-0) and the York Lions (29-21) in exhibition action.

In two games, Maric recorded four trys and three converts for a team leading 26 points.
