Weedmark and Di Paolo named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 11th are men's lacrosse player Jordan Weedmark (Carleton Place, Ont.) and women's soccer player Luciana Di Paolo (Newmarket, Ont.).

Weedmark, a fourth year Physical Education major, led the Brock men's lacrosse team to back-to-back victories over the Laurentian Voyageurs this past weekend. In two games, Weedmark was in on 12 of the Badgers 24 goals registering seven goals and five assists. He currently ranks among CUFLA national scoring leaders averaging 6.0 points per game.

Di Paolo, a third year Kinesiology major, helped lead the Brock women's soccer team to a 1-0-1 record this past week. In two games she posted a 0.50 GAA and .938 save percentage registering 15 saves on 16 shots. In the Badgers 1-1 tie versus the York Lions, Di Paolo turned aside a season high eight shots. Versus Guelph, she recorded seven saves for her first shutout of the season.
