Tipping and Caughlin named Brock Athletes of the Week
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Th Brock University Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 10th are men's basketball player Jameson Tipping (Orangeville, Ont.) and women's swimmer Delia Caughlin (St. Catharines, Ont.).
Tipping, a third year Recreation and Leisure major, led the Brock men's basketball team to back-to-back victories this past week over Laurier and Guelph moving them into sole possesion of fourth place in the OUA West. In two games, Tipping averaged 23.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. He is currently 12th in OUA scoring (16.4 PPG) and fourth in rebounds (8.6 RPG).
Caughlin, a fifth year Education major, led the Brock women's swim team to a 7th place finish at the OUA Championships. Caughlin ended her OUA career on a high capturing her first career OUA silver medal in the 50m Breaststroke (32.98), which was new school record. She placed 6th in the 100m Breaststroke (1:12.47) and 12th in the 200m Breaststroke (2:39.00). She was also part of the Badgers 200m Medley Relay who set a new school record with a time of 2:01.44. Caughlin will now compete at the upcoming CIS Championships in Calgary.
