2012-13 Brock University Athletic Council (BUAC) Executive

Brock University Athletic Council

Vision Statement:  By preserving a rich tradition of excellence, BUAC plans to develop a strong sense of athletic pride within the Brock Community, provide Varsity Athletes with additional financial support and demonstrate effective leadership within Brock’s existing Community Outreach Programs.

What is BUAC? The Brock University Athletic Council has an executive, comprised of 550 varsity athletes who meet weekly, as well as representatives from each team, who meet bi-weekly, with the members of the executive also in attendance.

BUAC is responsible for working closely with members of the Department of Athletics, by liaising with both the Director of Athletics and the Council Advisor among others, and then relaying information to the team representatives, who in turn relay said messages to their teams.

BUAC also makes many important decisions, and its members work very hard fundraising for a variety of causes, such as Prostate Cancer Research, Breast Cancer Research, and of course, Varsity Athletics at Brock University.

The Athletic Council also promotes Varsity Events, even raising funds by selling 50/50 tickets at some of these events.  Beyond supporting noble causes and its varsity teams in the spiritual sense, BUAC also makes monetary contributes.

For many years, BUAC has selected one male and one female team representative to receive the Dallas Beaton Award, which is a financial scholarship funded by the Athletic Council.
