ST. CATHARINES, ON - Brock Sports is pleased to announce the addition of Connor Brown who will join the Brock men's hockey and lacrosse teams in September.
"Adding Connor Brown to our team's forward group is significant," said Brock hockey head coach
Murray Nystrom. "He is extremely versatile as he can play any forward position, in any situation, and deliver an impact performance."
Brown played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League as a member of the Ottawa 67's and Saginaw Spirit, wearing the "C" his final season of junior in Saginaw. The 6-0 foot, 200 pound forward, played in 271 career OHL games, missing just one regular season game over his four years. Brown registered 58 goals and 47 assists for 105 points to go along with 313 minutes in penalties.
"I am really looking forward to the opportunity to play both sports I've played my whole life while also having a chance to pursue my academics," said Connor Brown. "I'm excited for the experiences ahead and the challenges that will come along as well. I have only heard great things about Brock as a school and its overall environment, I'm looking forward to growing as a person and I believe Brock gives me the chance to reach my fullest potential."
Brown was also an outstanding lacrosse player at the Jr A and Junior B level. In junior B, as a member of the Halton Hills Bulldogs, Brown amassed 503 career points adding 146 goals and 257 assists in 104 games. He ranked among the top five in scoring three consecutive seasons. In junior A, with Orangeville and Brampton, Brown collected 61 goals and 83 assists for 144 points in 41 career games. He was selected by the Vancouver Stealth in the 2015 NLL Draft.
"We feel we have provided a student-athlete with a great opportunity to compete as a two-sport athlete at Brock," said Nystrom. "I know the coaches on both side of the equation will work to ensure Connor is successful on both teams."
