LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University baseball team (9-9 OUA) lost for the seventh time in their past nine games as they dropped a 9-2 decision to the Western Mustangs Thursday night on the road. With the loss the Badgers miss the OUA playoffs for the first time in school history.
Tonight the Badgers got off to another slow start as the Mustangs put up six runs in the bottom of the first inning and three more in the second leading 9-0 after two innings.
Over the seven losses in the final nine contests, six of the Badgers losses came where they scored two or less runs.
Western has recorded a 14-8 overall record (10-4 at Labatt Park) versus Brock since the 2005 season. In the 10 victories over Brock at home Western has outscored the Badgers 43-14 with four shutouts. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 Western defeated Brock in the OUA conference championship series. The Badgers last OUA Championship came in 2004.
