Getting to Know Your Badgers - Cam Graham
Throughout the spring and summer months we will catch up with many of the Badgers top returning athletes for the 2011-12 season as part of the Getting to Know Your Badgers.
Our next student-athlete who we had the chance to ask a few questions to was Brock Baseball standout Cameron Graham (Sarnia, Ont.) who helped lead the Badgers to an OUA Championship and second place finish at the Nationals in 2010.
Why did you decide to come to Brock?
I first decided to come to Brock because of their history for their solid academics, as well as their success in baseball. I had some offers to go on scholorship to the states, but in comparison the schooling in the states was nothing like I would be getting at Brock. To go along with that, the baseball program here at Brock was top in the league, and I had a chance to be an everyday starter so it made my choice alot easier. My sister also goes to Brock so it made it easier on my family for transportation reasons, and its always good to have family close.
What is your favourite place on Brock's campus?
My favourite place on campus would have to be 2nd Floor in H Block in Mackenzie Chown. A lot of people have never been there but it is quiet and is easy to get work done.
What is the best part about being on the Brock baseball team?
The best part of being on the baseball team would have to be being apart of a huge group of guys all with the same mentality. With a team as big as ours (30 guys) you have alot of different personalities that can sometimes clash, but at the end of the day everyone has the same mindframe to be their best and do the best they can to represent the school well, and I really like that. We have a solid group of guys that knows what it takes to be at the top of their game, and being around guys like that always helps to keep you motivated.
Who is your funniest teammate, and why?
My funniest teammate would have to be Craig Jacques. You always know when he is at the park because you can here him wherever you are, and he always has something to say about everything.
If you hit the lottery what would you spend your money on?
If I hit the lottery I would take a trip around the states and visit every ballpark at least once, and buy some new ball gear of course.
What do you want to do after university?
After university I am hoping to go to grad school and get my masters. If that doesnt work out I am hoping to get a job somewhere in industry.
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
One thing people dont know about me is that I am a chemistry major. Whenever people ask me what program I am in and I say Chemistry, they are either totally surprised or wonder why.
Could you get a hit off of Brock pitching coach Strecker?
Coach Strecker has some of the dirtiest movement I have ever seen, and I haven't even seen him throw 100%. He has made me look stupid a few times in batting practice, but I think I would be able to knock a hit or two against him.
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
The most influential people in my life have been my parents. They have been helping me through sports and school since I can ever remember and they have always been there for me. They've taught me alot about life and being successful, hopefully which I can use for my personal benefit.
If you could have dinner with any three people in the world who would it be?
Three people i would have dinner with are Tim Thomas, Joe Torre and Brett Favre.

Quick Hits - Favourite…
Place to eat in Niagara? It isn't my favorite but Player's has some awesome wings
TV Show? Big Bang Theory
Singer/Artists/Band? Lil Wayne, Rise Against
Pro Sports Team? Yankees and Canucks
Athlete? Tim Thomas, the guy is a beast
Sport to watch besides hockey at Brock? I love going out to watch the hockey games. Matt Abercrombie has been a close friend of mine my whole life so it's good to go out and support him, but other than hockey it would have to be lacrosse.
