Women's Curling advances to National Championship Final versus Laurier
NEWFOUNDLAND - The Brock University women's curling team (14-5 overall) have advanced to the National Championship final at the 2011 CIS/CCA University Curling Championships. They will take on top-seeded Laurier Golden Hawks who were 6-1 in the round robin.
In the playoff tie-breaker the Badgers defeated the host Memorial Sea-Hawks 6-5. In the semi-finals they came from behind stealing four in the 10th end knocking off the St. Mary's Huskies 11-7.
The national championship final versus Laurier begins at 2:30 pm (1:00 PM EST).
