Brock Men's Basketball to host annual Gala December 10th
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – The Brock University Men's Basketball Team will be hosting their annual Basketball Gala Dinner on Monday, December 10th, 2012.
This year's event will be held at Amici's Banquet and Conference Centre located at 2740 Merrittville Hwy.
The dinner brings together nearly 300 people from the Niagara basketball community. The Brock Basketball Gala will begin at 6:00 PM with dinner being served at 7:00 PM.
Tickets for the dinner are $50.00. They can be purchased by calling Brock Men's Basketball head coach Brad Rootes (905) 688-5550 x 3301. All proceeds from this special event go to Brock Men's Basketball scholarships and bursaries.
The highlight of the evening will be the induction of the 1991-92 CIAU National Championship Team into the Brock Basketball Hall of Fame. This year marks the 20th Anniversary since winning the school's first National Championship.
The members of that team were Gord Wood, Brian Bleich, David Picton, Pat Sullivan, Allen MacDougall, Rob DeMott, Mike Pullar, Joe Dekker, Kevin Stevenson, Jamie Huebert, Stath Koumoutseas, Glen Tone, head coach Ken Murray, assistant coaches Brian Mulligan and Bill Liddell, manager Stan Leene and academic advisor Don Ursino.
There will also be the presentation of the Jimmy Rose Memorial Award winner, which will be awarded this year to Niagara Falls Bruce Stiefelmeyer and Les Potapczyk as well as to the late Bill Rootes. The Brock men's basketball team will also present the Peter Partridge Booster Club award.
