Four goal first leads No. 9 Laurier over Badgers 4-2

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University men's hockey team (8-12-1 OUA) remained winless in 2010 as they dropped a 4-2 decision to the No. 9 Laurier Golden Hawks Friday night on the road.

Laurier opened the scoring 1:17 into the first period when Mitchell Good beat Brock rookie netminder Mark Yetman (Mount Pearl, NL) for his sixth goal of the season. Just 32 seconds later, Nathan Peacock would put the Golden Hawks up 2-0 registering his sixth goal of the campaign.

Brock would cut the lead in half just over a minute later when Vince Scott (Mississauga, Ont.) and Derek Brochu (Welland, Ont.) setup Steve Pattison (Red Deer, AB) for his career high fourth goal of the season.

Midway through the first period, Laurier's Paul Bradley would register his team leading 15th goal to regain the two goal lead 3-1. With 7:20 left in the first, Craig Voakes would put Laurier up 4-1 which the Badgers would never be able to recover from.

2008-09 Brock Rookie of the Year Adam Schwark (Saskatoon, Sask.) would break his 20 game scoring slump as he recorded his first goal of the season with 6:41 remaining in the third period. Junior Gary Friesen (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.) and freshman Kyle McNeil (Cambridge, Ont.) added assists.
