Brock Hockey continues strong partnership with St. Catharines Minor Hockey School
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's and women's hockey team will be volunteering this Thursday, February 4th with the St. Catharines Minor Hockey School (SCMHS) at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
"As always we are happy to be at the forefront and have our student-athletes assist with hockey development in the city," said Brock Director of Athletics Dr. Lorne Adams. "We have been intensively involved for many years and will continue to serve minor hockey in that capacity for many years to come."
For the past nine years, the SCMHS has had a "BROCK BADGERS NIGHT" where both the men's and women's team have assisted in teaching skills and fundamentals to the young players. The St. Catharines Minor Hockey School has been an excellent development program for young boys and girls, whether they are starting out in hockey or using the program to further develop their skills.
"Gary Jensen, Leo Margarian, Mal Foster and the many volunteers of the SCMHS have put a great deal of time and effort into maintaining an outstanding hockey program for the kids," said Brock women's head coach Todd Erskine. "Our players are always excited to help out with the sessions, as they enjoy seeing how much fun the kids are having and the positive interactions with them."
"The St. Catharines Minor Hockey School is one of the longest running hockey development opportunities in Niagara Region and our players are pleased to be able to help out and add to the fun on the ice," said Brock men's head coach Murray Nystrom.
