Badgers LaPlante makes CHL debut tonight with Forth Worth

Brock University men's hockey player Jake LaPlante (Mississauga, Ont.) is making his professional debut in the Central Hockey League tonight with the Fort Worth Brahmas.

In three seasons with the Badgers, LaPlante played in 79 career games registering two goals and nine assists for 11 points. He also collected 127 penalty minutes. This past season at Brock he played in all 28 regular season games adding a career high six points. 

Prior to Brock, the 6-foot-5 defenseman played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Peterborough Petes. In three seasons with the Petes, LaPlante appeared in 168 career games registering two goals and 15 assists for 17 points. He also collected 192 career PIMs.

Other former Badgers currently playing pro include Ryan DelMonte (Germany), Josh Bonar (Romania), Isaac Smeltzer (Colorado - ECHL), Joe Tolles (Wheeling - ECHL) and Kyle McNeil (Fayetteville - SPHL).
