Brock men's rugby wins battle over Paladins 28-23
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's rugby team (2-1 OUA) came back from a four point deficit early in the second half, to defeat the Royal Military College Paladins by the score of 28-23 Saturday afternoon at home.
Leading the Badgers offense was Hugh McDonnell (Brantford, Ont.) who recorded 13 points including two converts, one penalty goal two great drop goals.
With pressure on, McDonnell put in two long drop goals late in the second half to secure the victory.
Brandon Marsden (Uxbridge, Ont.), Matt Alexander (Oshawa, Ont.) and Adam Ford (Munster, Ont.) all chipped in with a try each in the victory.
For the Paladins, Jaemok Lee (Qualicum Beach, BC) collected 13 points with two converts and three penalty goals. Brandon Black (Newmarket, Ont.) and Spence McLeod (Lindsay, Ont.) added single trys in the loss.
The Badgers next action is October 1st at 1:00pm when they travel to Hamilton to take on the defending OUA Champion McMaster Marauders. They return home on Oct. 7th vs Western and Oct. 15th against Queen's.
