Brock wrestling club places 2nd at Ontario Juniors

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's and women's wrestling club placed second overall at the 2013 Ontario Junior Championships this weekend. 

For the Brock men, Zack Falcioni captured gold at 55kg. Finishing second overall were Brian Cowan (55kg) and Gabriel Turetsky (74kg). Adam Cowan (55kg) and Javon Balfour (66kg) both placed third in their respective weight classes. Mike Carrier was fourth at 74kg to round out the Badger men.

On the women's side, Hailey Ichmanis captured first place at 82kg. Both Liisa Wainman (55kg) and Brittney Gearing (63kg) placed second overall in their respective weight classes. Rounding out the Brock women were Louise Ward (4th - 63kg) and Lydia Congdon (5th - 55kg).

Men - Gold - Guelph (23), Silver - Brock WC (22), Bronze - Matmen & Team Impact (19)

Women's - Gold - London WC (48), Silver - Brock WC (46), Bronze - Team Impact (37)

The Badgers return to the mat on February 2nd when they compete at the Western Open. Brock University is the host of the 2013 OUA Wrestling Championships which takes place on February 16th at the Ian Beddis Gymnasium.
