BROCK ROWING CAMPS AND CLINICS
LOCATION
Located in St. Catharines, Ontario, at the
world-famous Henley rowing course, the Brock Rowing School offers a
complete rowing experience for all ages and skill levels. Whether
you are a novice sculler or sweeper OR an experienced oarsperson
seeking to hone your skills, the Brock Rowing School can provide
you with the environment, equipment and expertise needed to help
you find your stroke.
COACHING STAFF
The Director of the Brock Sculling Centre is Peter Somerwil. Peter
is the head coach of the Brock University Rowing Team and has been
the club Captain for the St. Catharines Rowing Club. Peter is a
former world champion rower from the 1993 Canadian Lightweight
8+.
Assisting with the instructing are Stephan Wagner, ‘Swede’ Ron Burak, Mike Purcer, Pete Van Rooijen, and Allison Carryer Brock Varsity alumni & Coaches who themselves have Provincial, National and International experience.
2 Day Clinic - $275
The two-day clinics are comprised of an intense overview of all aspects of sculling or sweeping. This is great for a technical tune-up or a quick introduction to the sport of rowing.
The weekend sessions consist of 3 sessions Saturday and 2
sessions Sunday on the water. Each morning will have a brunch with
video review.
A two-day clinic with the same format as the weekend can be arranged for mid week for groups of 4 or more. Call or e-mail Peter for more information.
Youth Week Sculling Camp - $195
Any student between the ages of 13 to 19 with interest in rowing is invited to sign-up for Brock University Youth Rowing School. Athletes taking part will gain the proper understanding of rowing/sculling technique in singles, doubles, quads (1x, 2x, 4x).
The camp runs from 8:30am-12pm Monday through Friday. Two rows per day with a break in-between, where a light snack will be served and video is reviewed.
Instructors will arrive at the course for 8am each day in preparation for the days activities. Athletes can be dropped off between 8-8:30am.
Georgia Rowing Camp - $1350
The weeklong camp is open to anyone from a beginner to
experienced. It takes place in Lake Russell State Park, Elberton
Georgia. Athletes stay on site in shared cabins. The planned
schedule each day consists of a morning row, brunch with video
review, second morning row, and a late afternoon row after a longer
break. The morning rows are in small groups with an average of 4
athletes per coach. Athletes are grouped based on boat
speed. Cost: $1,350 and includes one week of accommodation and
brunches.

ON SITE CAMPS
Our coaches are available to travel to your club to provide one to
five days of intensive coaching and video review. Contact the
Rowing School for a custom tailored package and pricing.
COST
Basic rate includes coaching instruction, use of a shell (if
required), continental breakfast every morning and technical
feedback video sessions.
The weekend rate is $275
**10% discount for groups greater than 4
