Women's Basketball falls to Mustangs 80-60
LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University women's basketball team
(6-11 OUA West) dropped their sixth straight, falling to the
Western Mustangs by the score of 80-60 Wednesday night on the
road.
Brock continued to struggle early on as they trailed 21-9 after one
quarter. They battled back in the second quarter bringing it back
within 10 points, trailing 40-30 at the half.
Despite shooting a season best 47.4% (9-for-19) from beyond the
arc, the Badgers shot just 29.9% (20-for-67) from the field.
Western shot 49.3% (33-for-67) from the field including 39.1%
(9-for-23).
Freshman Jessica Del Signore (Brantford, Ont.) led the Badgers
offense knocking down a career high five three pointers for 15
points. Also in double figures was junior Whitney Gorges (Welland,
Ont.) who added 11 points in the loss.
The Mustangs had four players in double digits led by Amanda
Anderson and Megan Lapointe who recorded 18 points each. Nadine
Paron contributed with 17 points while Bess Lennox finished with 14
points and 10 rebounds for the double-double.
