Mustangs take 2-1 shootout decision in Women's Hockey
London, ON - For the third consecutive game, the Brock
University women's hockey team (8-7-0-3) fell by one goal in OUA
action, with today's result a loss to the Western Mustangs
(5-8-0-6) by a final score of 2-1 in a shootout.
Kelly Walker (Brampton, ON) opened the scoring midway through the
second period with her seventh goal of the season.
The Mustangs tied the score with just under seven minutes remaining
in the third on a power-play.
Overtime proved nothing and the game went into a shootout, where
Chantal Morais sealed the game for the Mustangs.
Beth Clause (Hamilton, ON) made 38 saves in the loss.
The Badgers return to action next Saturday and Sunday (January 24th
and 25th) as they host the Queen's Golden Gaels for a two-game set
at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Complex.
