Women's Hockey drops 3-0 decision to No. 2 Golden Hawks
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 2 ranked and undefeated Laurier Golden Hawks.
Laurier opened the scoring 3:13 into the first period with the man-advantage as Kaley Powers and Devon Skeats setup Brittany Crago who recorded her fourth of the season. With six minutes left in the first period, Vanessa Schabkar would beat the Brock defense and bury it behind Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) to give the Golden Hawks a 2-0 lead.
Midway through the second period on the power play, Crago and Skeats would find Powers in the slot who buried it top shelf past Clause for her team leading 11th goal of the campaign.
In goal, Laurier's Liz Knox recorded 25 saves for her 10th shutout of the season. Clause registered 31 saves in the loss.
