Women's Volleyball falls to Queen's in five
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (0-2 OUA) fell in five sets for the second consecutive time as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Queen's Gaels in their OUA homeopener in front of 300 in attendance (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 19-25, 10-15).
Leading the way for Queen's, who improves to 2-0, was Natalie Gray who led all players with a game high 17 kills. She also collected 11 digs and five block solos earning Player of the Game honours. Colleen Ogilvie contributed with 11 kills and nine digs with Lorna Button and Katie Hagarty adding eight kills each. Gaels setter Julie Lockwood collected 52 assists and 12 digs in the victory.
Senior Shannon Anderson (Newmarket, Ont.) led the Brock offense registering her second straight double-double adding 16 kills and 20 digs. Senior Katelyn Geisbrecht (Virgil, Ont.) contributed with 11 kills and 18 digs with junior Jennifer McKenzie (Calgary, Alta.) rounding out the Brock leaders finishing with nine kills and two block solos in the loss.
Queen's hit .211 for the match with 59 kills and 22 errors on 165 attempts. The Badgers hit just .157 for the match adding 46 kills with 18 errors on 178 total attacks
