Brock women's volleyball sweeps GeeGees 3-0
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (3-3 OUA) swept the Ottawa GeeGees 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-18) at the Bob Davis Gymnasium Sunday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Badgers were senior Rachel Roorda (St. George, Ont.) and sophomore Lucy McLay (Stratford, Ont.) who both registered 10 kills each. Roorda had a season-high .556 hitting percentage while also adding four digs and two block solos. She also collected her 300th career kill. McLay also added five digs, three aces and one block solo.
Senior Jennifer McKenzie (Surrey, BC) chipped in with six kills and two solo blocks. Junior Tori Stirling (Whitby, Ont.) rounded out the Brock leaders finishing with five kills, 11 digs and two aces.
For the GeeGees, Kayla Bell Hammond and Michelle Earl added seven kills each. Claudia Seguin led Ottawa with 16 digs in the loss.
For the game, the Badgers hit an impressive .366 adding 35 kills with just five errors on 82 attempts. Ottawa hit just .220 collecting 30 kills on 91 attempts with 10 errors.
The Badgers next action is November 19th at 1:00 pm when they take on the Waterloo Warriors on the road.
