Jimmy Rose Awards and Brock Basketball Hall of Fame Gala a huge success

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. The Brock University Men's Basketball Team and Jimmy Rose Lifetime Achievement Award Executive put on a very successful event Monday night which saw over 250 Niagara Region Basketball supporters honour Jay Triano (Niagara Falls, Ont.), the new head coach of the Toronto Raptors, and the late Ken Walsh with the Jimmy Rose Award.

"It is an honour to receive this lifetime achievement award and to share this special day in my coaching career with my extended basketball family in Niagara Region," said Jay Triano.

The evening also saw former Brock Badger greats Ken Murray (Buffalo, NY), Doug Fast (St. Catharines, Ont.) and David Picton (Welland, Ont.) be the first inductees into the Brock Men's Basketball Hall of Fame.

"I would like to thank all of our basketball supporters in Ontario and the Niagara Region who made this a very special evening," said Brock head coach and Hall of Fame inductee Ken Murray. "Congratulations to Jay and Ken who join a very select group of individuals to receive the Jimmy Rose Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award and to fellow inductees Doug Fast and David Picton into the Inaugural Brock Basketball Hall of Fame."

To end the presentations, Larry Miller, a member of the Jimmy Rose Executive, presented a cheque to Bill Rootes and Brian Bleich for $4000 to the Brock Basketball Scholarship Fund.
