WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (4-0
CUFLA) continued to roll in 2011 as they defeated the defending
CUFLA Champion McMaster Marauders by the score of 12-4 at the CUFLA
Lax Bash hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University Sunday afternoon.
Brock used a balanced attack with eight different goal scorers
in the rematch of last year's CUFLA championship game.
Leading the Badgers offense was Greg Davidson (Toronto, Ont.)
who led all scorers with game high three goals. Jordan Weedmark
(Carleton Place, Ont.) and Steve Priolo (St. Catharines, Ont.) both
contributed with two goals each. Dustin Dunn (Peterborough, Ont.),
Kyle Davis (Caledon, Ont.), Roscoe Smith (Midland, Ont.), Bryson Filipetti (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.) and Mark Vradenburg (Ottawa,
Ont.) all chipped in with one goal each in the victory.
Brock freshman goalkeeper Cameron Watts (Oakville, Ont.)
continued to impress, turning aside 13 of 17 Marauders shots he
faced for his third victory of the season. He currently ranks among
CUFLA leaders in both wins and goals against average.
The Badgers next action is Friday, September 23rd at 7:00pm when
they are on the road against the Guelph Gryphons. Brock's first
home game of the 2011 season is next Sunday, September 25th at
1:00pm when they host divisional rival Western Mustangs.
