GUELPH, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (4-1
CUFLA) dropped a 13-7 decision to the Guelph Gryphons (2-1 CUFLA)
Friday night on the road.
Brock led 3-0 in the opening 10 minutes before Guelph added
seven of the next eight goals leading 8-4 after three quarters. In
the fourth quarter, the Badgers would add two goals in the first
three minutes cutting the lead to 8-6, but it was the Gryphons
offense making a statement answering with five straight to secure
the victory..
For the Badgers, Jordan Weedmark (Carleton Place, Ont.) recorded
five points including two goals and three assists. Kyle Davis
(Caledon, Ont.) added two goals and one helper for a three-point
performance.
Craig England (Fergus, Ont.), Bryson Filipetti
(Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.) and Steve Priolo (St. Catharines,
Ont.) all added single goals in the loss.
Leading the Guelph offense was Ryan Serville (4G, 2A) and
Eric Hubert (3G, 2A) who combined for 11 points.
Jordan Critch chipped in with two goals and one assist with
Garrett Williams adding three helpers in the victory.
In goal, Brock's Ian Duffy (Ajax, Ont.) suffered the loss
allowing eight goals on nine shots. Cam Watts (Oakville, Ont.), who
suffered a head injury early in the second quarter, recorded 15
saves in a no-decision. Jeremy Snider recorded the victory for
Guelph.
The Badgers next action is Sunday, September 25th at 1:00 pm
when they host the Western Mustangs. They are also at home Oct.
15th vs McMaster, Oct. 16th vs Guelph and and Oct. 22nd vs Laurier.
All three of these games are scheduled for 2:30 pm.
