Former Badger Shawn Williams captures MSL scoring title

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Former Brock University men's lacrosse player and Brock Athletics Hall of Famer Shawn Williams captured the 2012 Major Series Lacrosse scoring title for the Brooklin Redmen.

In 14 games for Brooklin, Williams recorded 22 goals and 58 assists for 80 points. This is the sixth time in his major career that he has won the MSL scoring title.

In 279 regular season games in the MSL, Williams has registered 1371 career points including 586 goals and 785 assists. He has also collected 433 MSL playoff points adding 179 goals and 254 assists in 115 games.

In Canadian Senior/Major Lacrosse regular season history, Williams ranks 4th in career assists (785), 6th in career points (1371) and 14th in career goals (586). All-Time in Canadian Senior/Major Lacrosse history, which includes all regular season, playoff and Mann Cup games, Williams ranks 5th in career assists (1039), 5th in career points (1804) and 15th in career goals (765).

In his junior, senior, NLL and MLL career, Williams has amassed 1583 goals and 1996 assists for 3579 points in 796 career games. 

In June 2009, Williams became the first Brock lacrosse player to be inducted into the Brock Athletics Hall of Fame. He led the Badgers to four consecutive championships as a player and two as a coach. The five-time Team MVP is also the all-time leading scorer in Brock Badgers history.
