Brock women's hockey drops 2-0 decision to Varsity Blues

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team (0-4 OUA) dropped a 2-0 decision to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues at the Seymour-Hannah Centre Sunday night.

In four games this season, the Badgers offense have struggled scoring just four goals on 153 shots.  

After a scoreless first period, the Varsity Blues opened the scoring 6;32 into the second period as Jacqueline Scheffel beat Brock rookie starter Jenna Sosnowski for the power play marker. Amanda Ricker and Courtney Brind'Amour-McClure added the assists. Brind'Amour-McClure would put Toronto up 2-0 with 4:04 remaining in the second period registering her third goal of the season.

In goal, Varsity Blues starter Michaela Logan recorded 20 saves for the shutout victory. Sosnowski collected 32 saves in the loss dropping her record to 0-3.

The Badgers will now go on the road for three straight against Queen's Gaels (Oct. 17th), Laurier Golden Hawks (Oct. 26th) and Waterloo Warriors (Oct. 27th) . Brock returns home October 31st and November 1st when they host the UOIT Ridgebacks and York Lions.
