Box Score KINGSTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's hockey team (2-3 OUA) dropped a 5-2 decision to the Queen's Gaels Saturday night on the road at the Kingston Memorial Centre.
After a scoreless first period, Queen's got on the board first with a power play marker 4:47 into the second period as Joey Derochie beat Brock starting goaltender
Adrian Volpe for his first goal of the season. The Gaels would add two more midway through the second as Blair Wentworth recorded a power play marker at 9:17 and Jordan Soquila put Queen's up 3-0 with an even strength goal at 11:49.
Late in the second period Brock would cut the lead to two on the power play as
Daniel Tanel and
Johnson Andrews setup
Kaine Geldart for his second goal of the campaign.
The Badgers would make it a one goal game midway throgh the third period as
Matt Abercrombie buried a shot past Queen's goaltender Chris Clarke for his third goal of the season.Geldart and
Daniel Zweep added the assists.
Late in the third period, Queens would add their third power play goal of the nght as Patrick McEachen beat Volpe to regain the two goal lead 4-2. Patrick McGillis would add an empty netter a 19:20 to secure the victory.
In goal, Volpe recorded 30 saves in the loss while Clarke turned aside 30 of 32 shoys he faced for the victory.
