Brock men's basketball drops 90-67 decision to No.3 Ottawa

Box Score ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (0-5 OUA) dropped a 90-67 decision to the No. 3 ranked Ottawa GeeGees (5-0 OUA) at the Bob Davis Gymnasium Friday night. 

For the second straight game the Badgers fell behind early, which would prove to be the dagger against the third ranked GeeGees. Brock trailed 27-8 after one quarter and would play Ottawa even the final three quarters.

Ottawa had four players in double figures led by Moe Ismail who led all scorers with a game high 20 points. Johnny Berhanemeskel contributed with 15 points and seven rebounds while Caleb Agada and Mike L'Africain both added 13 points each in the victory.

Leading the way for the Badgers was freshman Jeremy Angelini who recorded a career high 17 points including five three-pointers. Senior Tshing Kasamba added 12 points and seven rebounds while Brandon John rounded out the Brock leaders finishing with nine points and seven boards.

For the game, Ottawa shot 42.7% (35-for-82) from the field, highlighted by 37.0% (17-for-46) from beyond the arc. Brock was 24-for-69 (34.8%) from the floor and 8-for-28 (28.6%) from long range.

The Badgers next action is Saturday night at 8pm when they host the No. 1 ranked Carleton Ravens at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
