Brock men's basketball drops 92-82 decision to Queen's

KINGSTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (0-8 OUA West) dropped a 92-82 decision to the Queen's Gaels on the road Saturday night.

Brock once again got out of the gates slow scoring just three points in the opening five minutes trailing 19-3. In the second quarter, Brock was down by a many as 19 points, 30-11, but didn't go away answering with a 25-8 run to make it a two-point game at the half, 38-36.

Midway through the third quarter Brock trailed 51-45 and found themselves down by 13 points at the end of 30 minutes 68-55.

In the fourth quarter, Brock cut the lead in half, trailing 72-64 with 6:46 left in regulation. Over the next three minutes, Queen's went on a 9-2 run leading 81-66, which the Badgers would never recover from.

Queen's was led by Sukhpreet Singh who recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds, including going 14-for-15 from the free throw line. Also in double figures were Roshane Roberts, Greg Faulkner and Mackenzie Simpson who added 19, 17 and 14 points respectively. Simpson also grabbed 12 boards for the double-double.

Brock had four players in double figures led by freshman Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, Ont.) who recorded a career high 26 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon John (Toronto, Ont.) contributed with 23 points and five rebounds while Tshing Kasamba (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Jeremy Angelini (Hamilton, Ont.) added 11 points each.

For the game, Queen's shot 39.4%(26-for-66) from the field, 29.6% (8-for-27) from long range and 82.1% (32-for-39) from the charity stripe. Brock went 39.2% (29-for-74) from the floor, 40.0% (6-for-15) from beyond the arc and 18-for-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line.

The Badgers return to action on November 27th when they travel to London to take on the Western Mustangs. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
