With just over a minute left in the second period, Western's Cassidy Gosling would be called for a charging major putting Brock on a five minute powerplay.
It wouldn't take long for the Badgers to capitalize with the man-advantage. Just under two minutes into the third period
Katie Howlett (Burlington, Ont.) beat Campbell for her second goal of the season. Just 14 seconds later,
Jessica Fickel (Fort Erie, Ont.) and Graham setup Vanderveen for second powerplay goal of the night to make it 4-2.
The Mustangs Jessica Sorensen would add a shorthanded marker to make it 4-3, but it was Sosnoski standing tall the rest of the way.
Sosnoski was outstanding in goal for the Badgers finishing with a career high 40 saves for her third victory of the season. Campbell recorded 27 saves in the loss.
The Badgers now break for the holidays and return to action in 2014 with an important four-game homestand vs Laurier (Jan. 9 - 7:15pm), Waterloo (Jan. 12 - 3:15pm), Nipissing (Jan. 18 - 3:15pm) and Laurentian (Jan. 19 - 3:15pm).
