SUDBURY, Ont. - The No. 7 ranked Brock University women's basketball team (4-0 OUA, 12-2 overall) extended their OUA win streak to four games as they defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs by the score of 63-48 Saturday night on the road.
Brock led 13-12 after one quarter, before holding Laurentian to just four second quarter points to take a 31-16 lead into the half. Â Brock would extend their lead to 20 after three quarters, 48-28, on route to the 15-point road victory.
The Badgers had three players in double figures led by senior
Nicole Rosenkranz (Niagara Falls, Ont.) who recorded 15 points and eight rebounds. FreshmanÂ
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, Ont.) contributed with a career high 13 points and seven rebounds while seniorÂ
Andrea Polischuk (Brantford, Ont.) added 12 points and four boards. Junior
Katie Harpur (Niagara Falls, Ont.) and seniorÂ
Annie McNeely (Kingston, Ont.) both chipped in with six points off the bench.
Adrienne Moreau finished with the double-double registering 14 points and 11 rebounds. Also in double figures was Devenae Bryce who added 13 points in the loss.
For the game, Brock shot just 33.3% (22-for-66) from the field while keeping the Voyageurs to 30.2% (16-for-53).  The Badgers struggled from both the charity stripe 51.7% (15-for-29) and from beyond the arc 23.5% (4-for-17).  Six of Laurentian's 16 field goals came from long range as they were 6-for-19 (31.6%). Laurentian held the rebound advantage 42-28 but turned the ball over 30 times to the Badgers eight.Â
The Badgers return home next weekend as they host the Ottawa GeeGees and Carleton Ravens at the Bob Davis Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
