Coming off a Cold One:

The Badgers take the field again Sunday after Tuesday's 3 and half hour marathon at George Taylor Field. While the Badgers took the game by a final of 9-7, the game did not go quite as scripted. The Badgers made an unprecedented 7 errors in the field vs. Queens which could be explained by the cold snap that hit St.Catharines leaving the players struggling to stay warm. That being said, the team will need to tighten up the defense in a big way if they hope to move to 9-2.

Unstoppable:
Badgers CF Ricky Ferri simply cannot be stopped. Ferri went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored, 1 stolen base and 4 RBI's last Tuesday vs. Queens further expanding his claim as the OUA's RBI leader with 14. With the 4 RBI game last night, Ferri surpassed his RBI total from his standout rookie season in 2011 when he recorded 12 RBI.

Production at the Corners:
With Phil Steer primarily playing 3B this season and James Roffey anchored at first base, the Badgers have had extremely consistent and high level production from the corner infield positions. Roffey is batting .324 with 8 RBI and has only failed to record a hit in 2 of the Badgers 10 OUA games so far. Steer leads the Badgers with a .370 AVG while continuing to contribute on the basepath's as well.

Running Wild:
The Badgers continue to light the basepaths on fire, stealing an incredible 9 bases against Queens on Tuesday. Phil Steer continues to lead the way as he stole 4 bases in the single game vs. Queens alone, now leaving him with 10 SB in 8 games so far in the OUA regular season. Ricky Ferri and Chris Anderi have each recorded 4 SB while Justin Gideon has recorded 3 so far this season.

Laurier Player to Watch:
Jeff Hunt is one of Laurier's top additions this season operating primarily as a corner infielder. The reason Hunt is a notable addition may be due to the fact he was a former Major League Baseball draft-pick, selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 15th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. Hunt returned to Ontario to further his education and now presents as a big threat in the Golden Hawks line-up. Limited by injury so far this season he has only played in 4 OUA games to date, but has gone 5-9 with 5 RBI and 7 walks while 4 of the 5 hits were doubles.
