With the victory, the Badgers move into seventh place in the OUA West standings with 21 points. Guelph and Windsor are tied for fifth with 22 points and Toronto sits in fourth spot with 24 points.

York opened the scoring 5:46 into the second period as Jesse Messier recorded his 11th goal of the season. 

The Lions took a 2-0 lead 1:52 into the third period as Messier and Tyler Mort setup Troy Barss for the shorthanded goal.

Brock would cut the lead to one at 6:26, when sophomore Johnson Andrews (NOTL, Ont.) and senior Anthony Geldart (Kingston, Ont.) found senior Matt Abercrombie (Sarnia, Ont.) who buried it past York starter Chris Perugini for his 10th goal of the campaign and second shorthanded marker.

At the midway mark of the third period, Abercrombie would beat Perugini for his second goal of the game and his 100th career point tying the game 2-2. Senior Thomas Stajan (Mississauga, Ont.) and freshman Sammy Banga (Windsor, Ont.) added the assists.

Brock would get their second shorthanded goal of the game at 13:33 as Stajan registered his ninth goal of the season which would prove to be the game winner.

In goal Brock junior Adrian Volpe (Burlington, Ont.) turned aside 47 of 49 shots he faced for his third straight victory. Perugini registered 41 saves in the loss. Volpe has played strong in the second half posting 120 saves over his last three starts.

The Badgers return to action Friday night at 7:15 pm when they host the Western Mustangs at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
