THUNDER BAY, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (6-9 OUA West) recorded a big victory Friday night on the road as they defeated the Lakehead Thunderwolves by the score of 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 21-25, 16-14).
Leading the Badgers offense was senior
Lucy McLay (Stratford, Ont.) who recorded 14 kills and six digs. Fifth year seniors
Tori Stirling (Whitby, Ont.) and
Shenise Power (North Vancouver, BC) both contributed with 12 kills each. Sophomore
Maddie Brown (Scarborough, Ont.) chipped in with 10 kills while junior setter
Lauren Stirling (Whitby, Ont.) registered the double-double adding 41 assists and 11 digs in the victory.
Lakehead was led by Jasmine Fox who added a match high 21 kills. Jorie Daymond and Sarah Reid added 15 and 14 kills respectively in the loss.
For the match Brock hit 17.5% adding 53 kills with 21 errors on 183 total attempts. The T-Wolves recorded 68
kills with 19 errors on 170 attempts for a 28.8% hitting percentage.
Brock returns to action Saturday night at 7pm when they look to sweep the weekend series versus the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
