ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's basketball team (6-5 OUA West) dropped a 72–56 decision to the McMaster Marauders (8-3 OUA West) Wednesday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
The Badgers trailed McMaster by just three at the half 36-33. The Marauders extended their lead to 10 after three quarters 54-44 and led by as many as 19 with 6:53 remaining in the fourth quarter on route to their eighth victory.
Brock is now just 1-6 in their last seven regular season games. The McMaster starters outscored the Badgers starting five 67-43.
McMaster had three players in double figures led by senior Hailey Milligan who recorded 31 points and 11 rebounds for the double double. Senior Jaklynn Nimec added 14 points and sophomore Danielle Boiago collected 10 points. Senior Vanessa Bonomo was just shy of a triple double adding nine points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the victory.

Nicole Rosenkranz (Niagara Falls, Ont.) who registered 17 points and four rebounds. Junior
Kayla Santilli (Brantford, Ont.) contributed with nine points while
Jenalyn Yumol (London, Ont.),
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, Ont.) and
Samantha De Jong (St. Catharines, Ont.) rounded out the leaders adding seven, six and six points respectively.
For the game, Brock was held to just 33.3% from the field going 23-for-69 including a dismal 2-for-16 (12.5%) from beyond the arc and 8-for-16 (50.0%) from the free throw line. McMasters shot 48.3% from the floor going 28-for-58. They were also 5-for-15 (33.3%) from downtown and 11-for-13 (84.6%) from the charity stripe.
The Badgers next action is Saturday, January 11th when they take on the Guelph Gryphons on the road.
