Box Score The Brock Badgers Men's Hockey team fell to (0-2) on the season, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Western Mustangs Saturday night in London.
Luke Karaim opened the scoring for the Mustangs midway through the first period as Western outshot Brock 14-9 in the opening stanza.
Colten Mayor was the lone goal scorer of the second period, and Karaim would connect on the powerplay in the third to round out the scoring.
Greg Dodds made 31 saves for the shutout, while
Real Cormier turned aside 38 shots for the Badgers in the loss.
Brock finished the game 0-for-5 on the powerplay. The Mustangs were 1-for-7.
"Despite the loss I thought we gave our best effort since winning the Steel Blade Tournament," said Badgers Head Coach
Murray Nystrom. "Our inability to capitalise in offensive situations hurt us. We will continue to focus on getting better."
Brock welcomes Guelph Friday night in its regular season home opener. Game time at the Seymour-Hannah Centre is 7:15 pm.
