Box Score NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (2-3 OUA) dropped a 3-0 decision to the Nipissing Lakers (3-1 OUA) Saturday afternoon at the Robert J Surtees Student Athletics Centre.
Leading the Nipissing offense was Brittany Ardron who recorded 11 kills and seven block solos. Christina Caruso and Tracy Hammerton added six kills each, while Lindsay Vanderweide chipped in with five kills. Lakers setter Jade DeCoste finished with the double-double adding 26 kills and 18 digs in the victory.
The Badgers were led by
Renee Helmer who finished with seven kills and 10 digs.
Lauren Stirling contributed with five kills, 12 digs and nine assists.
Katie Murray and
Brianna Hamilton added four kills each to round out the Brock leaders. Libero
Karlinna O'Leary led all players on defense with a game-high 20 digs.
For the second time in their last three matches, the Badgers finished with a negative hitting percentage adding 24 kills and 25 errors on 118 attempts (-.008). The Lakers hit .142 adding 33 kills with 16 errors on 120 attempts.
The Badgers return to action on November 8th when they take on the Waterloo Warriors on the road.
