OTTAWA - The Brock University women's basketball team (0-2 OUA) dropped an 85-77 decision to the Ottawa GeeGees Saturday night at Monpetit Hall in the nation's capital.
Melissa Tatti finished with 22 points, including a career best six three-pointers.
Katie Harpur registered 20 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Also in double figures was
Kayla Santilli who added 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
The GeeGees had four players in double figures led by Jen Stoqua and Sarah Besselink who recorded 18 points each. Krista van Slingerland and Stephanie MacDonald chipped in with 15 and 14 points respectively.
For the game, Brock shot 40.6% (26-64) from the field, 37.0% (10-27) from beyond the arc and 75.0% (15-20) from the free throw line. The GeeGees went 35-69 (50.7%) from the floor, 11-25 (44.0%) from downtown and 4-6 (66.7%) from the charity stripe. Brock won the battle on the glass outrebounding Ottawa 38-33. Â
The Badgers return to action Friday, November 14th at 6pm when they host the Algoma Thunderbirds in their regular season opener.
