The Brock University women's volleyball (3-3 OUA) improved to .500 on the season as they swept the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-13) Saturday night at the UW Physical Activities Centre.
The Badgers used a balanced attack led by
Renee Helmer who recorded nine kills and eight digs.
Maddie Brown contributed with seven kills and 1.5 blocks, while
Katie Murray (6 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs) and
Nicole Arthurs (6 kills, 3.5 blocks) added six kills each. Setter
Lauren Stirling chipped in with 26 assists, five kills, five digs and two aces. Libero
Karlinna O'Leary recorded her 600th career dig as a Badger leading the defense with 16.
Waterloo's Sammie Gwozdz led all players with 11 kills and Kayla Wierts chipped in with eight kills in the loss.
For the match, the Badgers hit .226 recording 35 kills and 14 errors on 93 attempts. Waterloo hit just .093 adding 30 kils and 20 errors on 108 offensive attempts.
The Badgers next action is Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 pm when they host the Western Mustangs at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
