Brock men's basketball fall to Laurier in final second 86-84

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker Saturday afternoon on the road dropping an 86-84 decision to the Laurier Golden Hawks.

Laurier led 27-21 after one quarter and would take a 10 point lead, 38-28, with five minutes left in the first half. In the final five minutes, the Badgers put together a 19-5 run lead 47-43 after 20 minutes.

The Golden Hawks took a one point lead after three quarters 68-67. This game would come down to wire. With the game tied 84-84, the Badgers were called for a foul on All-Star Max Allin with one second remaining in regulation. Allin would drained both free throws for the victory.

Brock had three players in double figures led by freshman Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, Ont.) who recorded 22 points and 11 rebounds for his 10th regular season double-double. Junior Jay Fast (St. Catharines, Ont.) added a season high 20 points and eight rebounds while senior Tshing Kasamba (St. Catharines, Ont.) chipped in with 17 points and seven boards.

Max Allin led the Laurier offense finishing with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Jamar Forde contributed with 20 points and 15 boards while Will Coulthard added 16 points in the victory.

Brock returns to action February 5th at 8pm when they travel down the QEW to take on the McMaster Marauders. They close out the OUA regular season with three home contests versus the Guelph Gryphons (Feb. 8th), Western Mustangs (Feb. 12th) and the No. 1 ranked Windsor Lancers (Feb 15th).
