WATERLOO, Ont - The Brock University men's hockey team (12-10-3 OUA West) fell to the hands of the Waterloo Warriors (11-11-3 OUA West) by the score of 4-2 Friday night at the Columbia Ice Fields. With the loss, Brock drops to 8th in the OUA West, two points ahead of Waterloo, with just one point separating 5th to 8th place with three regular season games remaining.
After a scoreless first period, Brock's
Dylan MacEachern (Mississauga, Ont.) opened the scoring 4:42 into the second for his fifth goal of the season. Seniors
Jordan Gignac (Hamilton, Ont.) and
Thomas Stajan (Mississauga, Ont.)Â added the assists.
Waterloo would tie the game 1-1 at 8:45 as Hanes setup Josh Woolley for his fourth of the campaign.
The Warriors would then answer with back-to-back power play markers from Joe Underwood and Colin Behenna late in the second period to take a 3-1 lead.Â

In the final minute, Brock would pull their goalie for the extra attacker but it was Waterloo's Jarred Parent adding the empty netter to secure the home victory.

Real Cormier (Trenton, Ont.) allowed three goals on 36 shots in the loss. Waterloo's Justin Leclerc turned aside 30 of 32 shots he faced for the win.
Brock returns to action Saturday night at 7:15pm when they play host to the Lakehead Thuinderwolves at the Seymour-Hannah Centre. The Badgers close out the regular season on the road against Laurier (Feb. 13th) and Western (Feb. 15th).
