The Brock Badgers men's hockey team (9-9-2) dropped an 8-4 decision to the Ryerson Rams (11-7-1) Thursday night in Toronto.
Ryerson opened a 5-1 first period lead and never looked back. Â
Jordan Gignac led the Badgers with two goals, while
Jamie Kendra and
Dylan MacEachern had two assists each.
Gregory Jambrosich and
Kaine Geldart had the other Brock goals.
Kyle Blainey led the Rams with two goals and one helper. Â
"It was a very frustrating performance tonight, Badgers head coach
Murray Nystrom said. Â "We never seemed to settle into our way of playing. Â I am sure we will rebound tomorrow in Guelph."
Clint Windsor suffered the loss in goal for Brock making 11 saves on 16 shots, before
Adrian Volpe took over turning aside 29 shots on 32 attempts.
Troy Passingham picked up the win for Ryerson making 29 saves as the Rams outshot Brock 48-33 overall.
The Badgers finished the game 1-for-3 on the powerplay. Â The Rams were 0-for-2.
Brock now visits Guelph on Friday before welcoming Western on Wednesday night. Â Game time at the Seymour-Hannah Centre is 7:15 pm.Â
