Box Score The Brock Badgers men's hockey team (9-10-2) dropped a 6-4 decision to the Guelph Gryphons (6-11-3) Friday night in Guelph.
Â
Brock's start was exactly what
Murray Nystrom was looking for after Thursday's 8-4 loss at Ryerson.
Â
The Badgers were up 2-0 1:10 into the game, but the Gryphons tied things at two after one and the game was tied 3-3 heading into the third.Â
Â
Guelph would outscore Brock 3-1 in the final stanza, including an empty-net goal.
Â
Despite the loss, Nystrom was happy with his teams overall performance.
Â
"I thought we played well enough, in most areas, tonight to win the game" said the Badgers head coach. "It was a good rebound game for us. Obviously we didn't get the result we wanted, but I thought the line of (Jordan) Gignac, (Dylan) MacEachern and (Taylor) Fielding were outstanding and (Andrew) Radjenovic and (Sammy) Banga generated countless opportunities to score."
Â
Gignac and Fielding paced Brock with a goal and assist apiece, while
Gregory Jambrosich and
Dan MacEachern had the other Badger tallies.Â
Â
Adrian Volpe suffered the loss in goal making 26 saves on 31 shots as Brock was outshot 37-31 overall. Â
Â
Andrew D'Agostini registered the win for the Gryphons, while Mackenzie Nichol had three assists. Â
Â
Brock now welcomes Western Wednesday night. Game time at the Seymour-Hannah Centre is 7:15 p.m.
