GUELPH - The Brock University women's hockey team (3-6-1 OUA) fell to the No. 4 ranked Western Mustangs by the score of 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
After a scoreless opening period, the Mustangs got on the board 8:23 into the second period as Stacey Scott beat Brock starter
Jensen Murphy (Kingston, Ont.) for her fourth goal of the season.
Five minutes into the third period, Western would take a 2-0 lead on a goal from Britt Loggie.Â
At the 8:09 mark, Brock would cut the lead in half, as
Brittany Gillmor (St George Brant, Ont.)Â and
Christina Ieradi (Maple, Ont.) setupÂ
Isabella Triolo (Oakville, Ont.) for her first goal of the season.
The Mustangs would add one more at 11:11, as Kendra Broad and Brittany Clapham setup Megan Taylor for her first goal of the season.
In goal, Brock's Murphy registered 30 saves in the loss. Western's Kelly Campbell collected 26 saves for the victory.
The Badgers return to action November 21st at home when they host the Waterloo Warriors 2:15 pm at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
