WATERLOO, ON - The No. 4 ranked Brock University men's basketball team recorded their 20th win of the season as they defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks by the score of 91-67 on the road Wednesday night.
The Badgers led 23-17 after one quarter. Midway through the second quarter, Brock held a two-point lead before going on a 14-5 run to end the opening half  leading 43-32 after 20 minutes.
Early in the third, Brock extended their lead to 50-34, and held onto an 18-point lead at the end of three quarters.Â
In the final stanza, the Badgers offense continued to roll as they went up by as many as 28 points, 86-58, with just under four minutes left in regulation.Â
Brock had three players in double digits led by
Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, ON) who recorded 27 points and 16 rebounds for the double-double. Elgadi also surpassed Kevin Moore (1396) for 19th all-time in Brock career scoring with 1398 pts. He now closes in on Mike Kemp (1400), Terry Rigg (1403) and Brian Bleich (1413).
Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) collected 14 points and eight rebounds while
Matt Marshall (Burlington, ON) added 12 points and 10 boards for the double-double.
The leading scorers for Laurier were Matt Chesson and Will Coulthard who added 21 and 11 points respectively.
The Badgers shot 47.9% from the field going 35-for-73. They were also 5-for-16 (31.3%) from beyond the arc and 16-for-23 (69.6%) from the charity stripe. Laurier went 23-for-64 (35.9%) from the field, 6-for-18 (33.3%) from long range and 15-for-32 (46.9%) from the free throw line.
Brock returns to action on Saturday when they take on the Waterloo Warriors on the road.
