WATERLOO, ON - The Brock University women's basketball team defeated the Waterloo Warriors by the score of 76-53 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Badgers opened the game with a 19-3 run in the opening five minutes of the first quarter and never looked back.
Leading the Badgers offense was
Melissa Tatti (Ancaster, ON) who recorded aÂ
game-high 21 points including going 5-for-7 from beyond the arc.Â
Kira Cornelissen (Aylmer, ON) contributed with 12 points and five rebounds. Rounding out the Brock leaders were Kayla Santili (Brantford, ON) (9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists),
Jenalyn Yumol (London, ON) (8 points, 7 assists) and
Kate Harpur (NOTL, ON) 8 points.
Waterloo was led by Kristen Osborne and Nicole Schlick who contributed with 16 and 12 Yumol (88 respectively.
For the game, the Badgers shot 45.3% from the field going 29-for-64. They also shot 42.3% (11-for-26) from three-point range and 63.6% (7-for-11) from the charity stripe. Waterloo shot 31.4% (16-for-51) from the floor, 16.7% (2-for-12) from long range and 63.3% (19-for-30) from the free throw line.Â
The Badgers next action is Wednesday, January 20th at 6pm when they host the Western Mustangs at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
