ST. CATHARINES, ON - The No. 3 ranked Brock University men's basketball team (8-2 OUA, 21-6 overall) were upset by the Western Mustangs 72-61 in front of a capacity crowd Wednesday night at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.

Midway through the third quarter, Western held a one-point lead before going on an 8-0 run to lead by as many as nine 44-35 with 3:54 left in the quarter. The Mustangs held onto a 49-41 lead at the end of 30 minutes.
In the fourth quarter, Brock would rally to bring it to within three points 56-53, but it was the Mustangs going 12-for-15 from the charity stripe in final two minutes to secure the road victory.

Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) who added 19 points and five rebounds.
Ryan Bennett (Toronto, ON) collected 14 poiints while
Zachary Angelini (Hamilton, ON) added 12 points off the bench. Brock leading scorer
Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, ON) was held to a season low six points and eight rebounds.
Western duo of Peter Scholtes and Greg Morrow combined for 48 of their team's 72 points. Scholtes led all scorers with 25 points and seven rebounds while Morrow contributed with 23 points. Also in double figures was Anthony Spiridis who chipped in with 16 points.
The Badgers shot 33.3% (21-for-63) from the field, 27.6% (8-for-29) from beyond the arc and 78.6% (11-for-14) from the charity stripe. The Mustangs went 26-for-56 (46.4%) and were held to 0% (0-for-11) from three-point land. They also went to the free throw line 15 more times than Brock shooting 62.5% (20-for-32).
