Box Score TORONTO - The Brock University women's hockey team defeated the York LIons by the score of 3-1 Saturday afternoon on the road.

After a scoreless opening 29 minutes, Brock would answer first midway through the second, as rookie Annie Berg (Beamsville, ON) and Cara Sayles (Welland, ON) setup Christina Ieradi (Maple, ON) for her first goal of the season.

Sayles would add her second assist of the game at the 12:32 mark of the second period, as she setp Lisa Buratynski (Ajax, ON) who beat York starting goaltender Lauren Dubie for the 2-0 lead

With just two minutes left in the second, the Badgers went up 3-0, as Sayles and Berg setup Ieradi for her second goal of the contest. It was Ieradi's fourth two-goal game of her career while Sayles setup all three Brock goals.

With just seven minutes left in the third period, York's Erin Locke would beat Brock starter Stephanie Loukes (Oakville, ON) to make it 3-1.

Loukes played a strong game registering 34 saves for the victory while Dubie collected just 16 saves in the loss.

The Badgers are back at home October 29th and 30th when they host the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs at the Seymour-Hannnah Centre. Both games are scheduled for 2:15pm.
