TORONTO, ON - The Brock University men's hockey team defeated the York Lions by the score of 3-1 Friday night at the Canlan Ice Sports in Toronto.
The Badgers opened the scoring 6:15 into the opening period, as captain
Andrew Radjenovic (Hamilton, ON) and
Brody Silk (Iroquois Falls, ON) setup
Sammy Banga (Windsor, ON) for his fifth goal of the season. Brock would go up 2-0 with eight minutes left in the first period, as
Adam Lloyd (Orleans, ON) found Matt MacLeod (Niagara Falls, ON) who beat York starter Mack Shields for his fourth goal of the campaign.
York would cut the lead in half midway through the second period as Scott Feser added a power play marker with Kyle Campbell and Trevor Petersen adding the assists.
With the York goalie pulled for the extra attacker, MacLeod would find Radjenovic who slid it the length of the ice for the empty netter with 1:33 left in regulation.
In goal, Brock starter
Clint Windsor (Hamilton, ON) recorded 28 saves for the victory. Shields added just 20 saves in the loss.
The Badgers return home Saturday, October 29th at 6pm when they host the Guelph Gryphons at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
