Box Score St. Catharines, ON – The Brock University's women hockey team were defeated by the Laurentian Voyageurs by a score of 3-1 Sunday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
 
Both teams were held scoreless through the first period but it was the Badgers striking first at 11:20 into the second period when Maggie Spratt-Mallick (Caledonia, ON) setup Melissa Hurrell (Caledon, ON) for her first goal of the campaign. 
 
Laurentian would tie the game just a minute later as Bertuzzi beat Badgers starting netminder Jensen Murphy (Kingston, ON) to knot it at 1 going into the second intermission. The Voyageurs came out strong in the third netting 2 quick ones to take a 3-1 lead over the Badgers. The Badgers were unable to answer leaving it in a 3-1 defeat.
 
In net, Murphy recorded 32 shots against while Laurentian's goaltender, Laura Deller faced a combined 23 shots to earn the win.
 
The Badgers return to action this upcoming Friday as they host a 3-3 Queen's Gaels team at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
